Interior Care
Do not allow caustic solutions, such as perfume and cosmetic oils, to contact interior parts, as they may cause damage or discoloration. If they contact interior parts, wipe them off immediately. See the instructions on the proper way to clean vinyl.
CAUTION
- Never allow water or other liquids to contact electrical or electronic components inside the vehicle, as this may cause damage.
- When cleaning leather items (steering wheel, seats, etc.), use neutral cleaners or low-alcohol solutions. If you use high-alcohol solutions or acidic/alkaline cleaners, the leather color may fade or the surface may peel.
Cleaning Upholstery and Interior Trim
Vinyl
Remove dust and loose dirt from vinyl with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean vinyl surfaces with a vinyl cleaner.
Cloth
Remove dust and loose dirt from fabric with a brush or vacuum cleaner. Clean with a mild soap solution recommended for upholstery or carpets. Remove fresh stains immediately with a fabric stain remover. If fresh stains are not treated immediately, the fabric may become permanently stained and its color may change. In addition, its flame-retardant properties may be reduced if the material is not properly maintained.
CAUTION
Using any cleaning agents or procedures other than those recommended may affect the appearance, color, and flame-retardant properties of the fabric.
Leather
• Leather Seat Features
- Leather is made from the outer hide of animals, which undergoes a special treatment process to make it usable. Since it is a natural material, each part varies in thickness or density. Wrinkles may appear as a natural result of stretching and shrinkage depending on temperature and humidity.
- The seat is made of elastic fabric to improve comfort.
- The parts that contact the body are curved, and the side support surface is high, providing comfort and stability while driving.
- Wrinkles may appear naturally through use. This is not a product defect.
CAUTION
- Wrinkles or wear that appear naturally through use are not covered by the warranty.
- Belts with metal accessories, zippers, or keys in rear pockets may damage the seat fabric.
- Be careful not to wet the seat. This may change the nature of natural leather.
- Jeans or clothing with dyes that may bleed can stain the seat upholstery fabric.
• Leather Seat Care
- Vacuum the seat regularly to remove dust and sand from the seat. This will prevent abrasion or damage to the leather and preserve its quality.
- Frequently wipe leather seat trim with a dry or soft cloth.
- Using proper leather protectants can prevent abrasion of the coating and help preserve the color. Be sure to read the instructions and consult a specialist when using leather coatings or protectants.
- Light-colored (beige, cream-beige) leather easily becomes soiled and stains are noticeable. Clean the seats often.
- Avoid wiping with a wet cloth. This may cause the surface to crack.
• Cleaning Leather Seats
- Remove all stains immediately. See the instructions below for removing each type of stain.
- Cosmetic products (sunscreen, foundation, etc.): Apply cleansing cream to a cloth and wipe the stained area. Wipe off the cream with a damp cloth and remove the water with a dry cloth.
- Beverages (coffee, soft drinks, etc.)
Apply a small amount of neutral detergent and wipe until the stain no longer spreads.
- Oil
Immediately absorb the oil with an absorbent cloth, then wipe with a stain remover designed only for natural leather.
- Chewing gum
Harden the chewing gum with ice and gradually remove it.
Cleaning the Seat Belt Webbing
Clean the seat belt webbing with any mild soap solution recommended for cleaning upholstery or carpet. Follow the instructions supplied with the soap. Do not bleach or dye the webbing, as this may weaken the seat belt.
Cleaning the Inside of the Window Glass
If the interior glass surfaces of the vehicle fog up (i.e., become covered with an oily, greasy or waxy film), clean them with a glass cleaner. Follow the instructions on the glass cleaner container.
CAUTION
Do not scratch or scrape the inside of the rear window. This may damage the rear window defroster grid.
