Service requirements. Shift Point Indicator

This section provides a comprehensive overview of the service requirements display and the Shift Point Indicator in the BMW 5 Series G30. Using the Control Display, the driver can view maintenance scope, statutory vehicle inspections and service history. With iDrive, service information can be retrieved quickly and appointments can be managed easily. The system supports automatic notification of the service partner, a modern maintenance concept. The Shift Point Indicator helps the driver select the optimal gear for fuel-efficient driving. Service requirements

Principle

This function displays the required service and the corresponding maintenance scope.

General

The distance or time remaining until the next service is briefly shown in the instrument cluster after switching on the ready mode.

The current service requirements can be read out by a service advisor via the remote control.

Some service requirement information can also be displayed on the remote control with display.

Further information on the maintenance scope can be displayed on the Control Display.

Principle

Completed maintenance can be displayed on the Control Display. The function is available as soon as maintenance has been entered in the vehicle data.

Have maintenance carried out by a manufacturer service partner, another qualified service partner or a specialist workshop. The completed maintenance work is entered in the vehicle data.

Principle

The system recommends the most fuel-efficient gear for the current driving situation.

The Shift Point Indicator is active in manual mode of the Steptronic transmission.

On vehicles without the Shift Point Indicator, the engaged gear is displayed.
