When the ingredients are mixed correctly, this fluid effectively protects the heating and cooling system from corrosion and freezing.

With the engine cold, the coolant level in the coolant reservoir must be between the MIN and MAX marks. The coolant level rises as engine temperature increases and drops as the engine cools.

Adding tap water or incorrect ingredients to the cooling system may damage the cooling system.

• Do not use tap water, alcohol-based or methanol-based antifreeze as coolant.
• Only a mixture of distilled water and the appropriate antifreeze suitable for this vehicle, in a 50:50 ratio, is permitted.

Otherwise, the engine may overheat or catch fire.

If the coolant level drops below the MIN mark, add the appropriate coolant mixed in the correct proportions to the coolant reservoir, but only with the engine cold.

Hot coolant and steam may be expelled from the engine cooling system under high pressure, which may cause serious injury.

• Do not remove the coolant reservoir or radiator cap when the engine is hot.

Coolant is a poisonous technical fluid.

• Avoid repeated or prolonged contact with coolant.
• After contact with coolant, clean skin and nails thoroughly with soap and water.
• Keep coolant out of reach of children.
• Coolant causes skin irritation. Swallowing it may cause poisoning or death.
