Brake Fluid and Clutch Hydraulic Fluid
The vehicle has one reservoir for both the brake fluid and the clutch hydraulic fluid.
Brake fluid and clutch hydraulic fluid can absorb moisture. Excessive moisture in the brake fluid can reduce the effectiveness of the brake and clutch hydraulic systems. To prevent corrosion of the hydraulic system, the fluid should be replaced in accordance with the instructions in this manual.
Use only the brake fluid and clutch hydraulic fluid recommended by us. The reservoir must remain filled to the required level. Do not allow the level to drop below the MIN mark or rise above the MAX mark.
A low brake fluid level in the reservoir may indicate a leak in the brake system or wear of the brake pads or linings. To determine whether the hydraulic brake system requires repair, contact an authorized Chevrolet dealer. After repair, add brake fluid to the system if necessary.
When the brake fluid level drops below the permitted level, the brake system warning light (
) illuminates. See the section "BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT".
ADDING BRAKE FLUID AND CLUTCH HYDRAULIC FLUID
1. Remove all dirt from around the reservoir cap.
• Before removing the reservoir cap, make sure the area around the cap is completely clean.
Contamination of the brake fluid and clutch hydraulic fluid can disrupt system operation, resulting in costly repairs.

2. Unscrew the reservoir cap.
3. Fill the reservoir to the MAX mark with the recommended brake fluid/clutch hydraulic fluid. Be careful not to spill fluid on painted surfaces. If fluid gets on painted surfaces, rinse immediately with cold water.
Excess brake fluid/clutch hydraulic fluid may cause a fire.
• Do not overfill the reservoir.
An engine fire may cause injury and damage to vehicle components and other property.
4. Tighten the reservoir cap.
• Do not dispose of used brake fluid/clutch hydraulic fluid with household waste.
• Use only disposal methods for automotive waste permitted in your region.
Used brake fluid/clutch hydraulic fluid and their containers are potentially hazardous. They can harm health and the environment.
Brake fluid and clutch hydraulic fluid are toxic chemicals and can cause irritation of the skin and eyes.
• Avoid contact of brake fluid/clutch hydraulic fluid with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, immediately wash the affected area thoroughly with plenty of water and soap.
