The parking brake must hold the vehicle on a sufficiently steep slope.

PARKING BRAKE TRAVEL INSPECTION

The parking brake lever travel should be:

7 to 10 notches, with a force of approximately 20 lbf.

To check the parking brake travel:

1. Switch off the engine.

2. Apply the parking brake, counting the clicks of the ratchet. If the number of clicks differs from the value above, have the parking brake adjusted by an authorized Chevrolet dealer.
