Using a child seat
The level of protection provided by a child seat depends on its ability to restrain the child and on how it is installed. Incorrect installation endangers the child in the event of sudden braking or a collision.
Before buying a child seat, check that it complies with the regulations in force in the country of use and that it can be installed in your vehicle. Contact an authorised brand partner to find out which child seats are recommended for your vehicle.
Before installing a child seat, read its instruction manual and follow the instructions it contains.
If you have difficulty installing the seat, contact the equipment manufacturer.
Keep the instruction manual for as long as the child seat is in use.
Set an example by fastening your own seat belt and teach the child to do the same:- correct fastening of the seat belt;
- getting in and out of the vehicle on the side away from the traffic.
