Fuel tank (refuelling)

~5min read
Zbiornik paliwa (uzupełnianie paliwa)

Usable tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.

Cap A can be unlocked with the ignition key.

To fill the tank, see the section "Filling the fuel tank".

A cap 1 is provided on the filler flap while refuelling.

After refuelling, check that the cap and flap are closed.

Do not clean the area around the fuel filler with a high-pressure washer. The fuel filler cap has a special design. If it needs replacing, make sure the replacement cap has the same specifications as the original. Contact an Authorised Dacia Partner. Keep the fuel filler cap away from open flames or heat sources. Do not clean the area around the fuel filler with a high-pressure washer.

Fuel quality

Use good-quality fuel that meets the standards applicable in your country and that complies with the instructions on label B inside the fuel filler flap.

See the "Engine technical data" table in chapter 6.

Diesel versions

Always use diesel fuel that complies with the instructions on label B inside the fuel filler flap.

Never mix petrol (unleaded or E85) with diesel, even in small quantities. Do not use ethanol-based fuel unless the vehicle is designed for it. Do not add fuel additives, as this may damage the engine.

Petrol engine version

Always use unleaded petrol.

The octane rating (RON) must comply with the instructions on label 8, located on the fuel filler flap.

Vehicles with ethanol-based fuel engines

Always use unleaded petrol or fuel containing a maximum of 85 percent ethanol (E85).

At low temperatures, starting the engine may be difficult or even impossible.

To avoid this problem, use unleaded petrol.

Note: when using this fuel, increased fuel consumption may be noticed.

When changing fuel, the engine needs to adapt, which may cause discomfort (delayed pull-away, jerking, etc.) for several minutes.

Refuelling petrol and diesel versions

Before starting to fill the tank, insert the nozzle so that it pushes the valve open and push it in as far as it will go (risk of fuel splashing).

Hold the nozzle in the same position until filling is complete. After the first automatic shut-off of the pump, you can only restart filling up to two more times; do not try to add more fuel, so that the empty space designed into the tank is preserved.

While filling, make sure water does not get into the tank.

The valve and its edge must be kept clean.

Petrol versions: Using leaded petrol would damage the exhaust gas treatment components and could void the warranty.

To prevent leaded petrol from being poured into the tank, the filler neck has a restriction with a flap that only allows the unleaded petrol pump nozzle (at the petrol station) to be inserted.

Persistent smell of fuel If a smell of fuel appears and persists, you should:
  • stop the vehicle if traffic conditions allow and switch off the ignition;
  • switch on the hazard warning lights, ask all passengers to leave the vehicle and stay at a safe distance from the traffic;
  • contact an Authorised Dacia Partner.

LPG versions

Usable tank capacity: approx.

32 litres.

Refuelling with LPG

Apply the parking brake, stop the engine, switch off the ignition and turn off the lights.

Always observe the safety instructions posted at the filling station.

When filling the tank, add the required amount of LPG.

When the pump stops delivering LPG or when the pump flow drops noticeably, the maximum LPG level has been reached.

Do not attempt to top up further.

If the LPG tank capacity is exceeded during filling, contact a certified mechanic or an Authorised Dacia Partner to check the automatic filling system.

Full-service filling station

If the LPG is filled by a filling station attendant, hand them the filling adapter 2 found in the bag in the lockable storage compartment.

IMPORTANT: Adapter 2 depends on the country the vehicle was sold in. Before moving to another country, be sure to consult an Authorised Dacia Partner.

Self-service filling stations

We recommend wearing gloves when handling the LPG nozzle.

Open the fuel filler flap and unscrew the LPG filler cap 3. Proceed carefully in accordance with the refuelling instructions displayed on the LPG dispenser. 4

If the pump stops or has problems operating, this means the maximum filling level of the tank (80%) has been reached.

Filling stops when the button is released.

Release the lever (a small amount of gas may escape), remove the nozzle and hang it on the dispenser.

Refit the filler cap 3 to prevent water or foreign matter from entering the fuel system.

Running out of fuel – diesel version

Brak paliwa - wersja diesel

Vehicles with priming pump 5: after running out of fuel completely, bleed the system before attempting to restart the engine.

Fill the tank with at least 8 litres of diesel.

Press priming pump 5 several times.

After completing these steps, the engine can be started.

If the engine does not start after several attempts, contact an Authorised Dacia Partner.

Vehicles with priming pump 5

Turn the key to the "ON" position M and wait a few minutes before starting. This allows the fuel system to bleed.

If the engine does not start, repeat the procedure.

Any repair or modification of fuel system components (electronic modules, lines, fuel circuit, injector, protective covers, etc.) is strictly prohibited for safety reasons (except when carried out by an Authorised Dacia Partner). When working near the engine, remember that it may be hot. In addition, the radiator fan may start at any time. Risk of injury.
