Supplementary restraint systems for the front seat belts

Depending on the vehicle version, they include:
- collarbone belt pretensioners;
- driver's and front passenger's frontal airbags.
These systems may operate separately or together in the event of a frontal collision of the vehicle with an obstacle.
Depending on the force of the impact, the system may activate:
- the seat belt lock;
- the airbag and the belt pretensioner.
- After an accident, have the restraint system checked.
- Do not attempt any repairs or modifications to the system (airbags, electronic control modules, wiring) yourself, and do not use its components in other vehicles, even identical ones.
- To avoid unintended deployment of the system, which could cause serious damage, contact an authorised Dacia dealer, whose qualified personnel are authorised to repair the supplementary restraint systems for the front seat belts.
- The electrical parameters of the system's igniter may only be checked by suitably trained personnel using specialised equipment.
- If the vehicle needs to be scrapped, contact an authorised Dacia dealer to have the gas generator, belt pretensioners and airbags disposed of.
Belt force limiter
In the event of a particularly severe impact, this device activates to reduce the force the belt exerts on the body.
Driver's and front passenger's airbags

The driver's airbag is installed in the steering wheel and, depending on the vehicle version, the passenger's airbag is installed in the dashboard.
The word "Airbag" on the steering wheel and dashboard (deployment zone 1) and, depending on the vehicle version, a label in the lower corner of the windscreen, remind you that this equipment is fitted in the vehicle.
Each airbag system consists of:
- an airbag and gas generator, installed in the steering wheel for the driver and in the dashboard for the front passenger;
- an electronic control module for the system, which controls the electrical igniter of the gas generator;
- a single warning lamp

- independent sensors.
Operating principle
The system operates only when the ignition is switched on.
In the event of a severe frontal impact, the airbag(s) inflate(s) rapidly to cushion the impact of the driver's head and chest against the steering wheel, and the passenger's head and chest against the dashboard; the airbag(s) then deflate(s) immediately after impact so as not to hinder exit from the vehicle.
The airbag system works on the principle of pyrotechnics, which is why, when the airbag deploys, heat and smoke are released (these are not a sign of fire) and a loud bang is heard. Immediate inflation of the airbag may cause abrasions to the skin or other unpleasant effects.All the recommendations listed below are intended to allow the airbag to inflate fully and to prevent serious injuries when the airbag deploys.
Recommendations for the driver's airbag- Do not modify the steering wheel or its airbag.
- Do not cover the steering wheel airbag with any objects.
- Do not attach any objects (pins, badges, watches, phone holders, etc.) to the steering wheel airbag.
- Removing the steering wheel is prohibited (except when carried out by an authorised Dacia dealer).
- When driving, do not sit too close to the steering wheel: your arms should be slightly bent at the elbows (see the section "Adjusting the driver's seat" in Chapter 1). This position leaves enough free space for the airbag to inflate fully and work effectively.
Recommendations for the front passenger's airbag
- Do not attach any objects (pins, badges, watches, phone holders, etc.) to the dashboard in the area where the airbag is installed.
- Do not place any objects or animals between the dashboard and the passenger (dog, umbrella, cane, parcels, etc.).
- Do not rest your feet on the dashboard or the seat, as this may cause serious injury. All parts of the body (knees, hands, head, etc.) should be kept at a safe distance from the dashboard.
- After removing a child seat, reactivate the front passenger's airbag so that adequate protection is provided in the event of a collision.
