Catalytic Converter

GENERAL INFORMATION.

Warning.

When using a lift, make sure the lift support pads do not

touch the catalytic converter, as this may cause damage to it.

The purpose of the catalytic converter built into the

exhaust system is to reduce harmful emissions of

exhaust gases into the atmosphere. The oxidation catalytic converter contains a substrate coated with a layer of precious metal catalyst (platinum, palladium). The converter reduces emissions of hydrocarbons CH and carbon monoxide CO. The three-way catalytic converter has

a platinum-rhodium catalyst and additionally cleans exhaust gases of nitrogen oxides NO..

When the vehicle is equipped with a catalytic converter, do not operate it on leaded gasoline.

This will quickly lead to failure of the

catalytic converter.
