During inspection, maintenance, or repair of the exhaust system,
check that there is sufficient clearance between the exhaust system components
and the vehicle underbody. Contact or insufficient clearance between the underbody and hot exhaust system components may cause severe heating of the floor panels and
damage to the anti-corrosion and sound-deadening coatings, as well as floor mats and
trim materials in the passenger compartment. Inspect the exhaust system and
the related fasteners on the underbody, as well as the luggage compartment lid, for damage, defects, missing parts, displaced components, leaking weld seams, loose fasteners and other faults,
which may allow exhaust gases to enter the passenger compartment or luggage compartment.
vehicle. Dirt or water in the luggage compartment may be a result of
the above luggage compartment lid faults. Repair all detected faults immediately. When replacing the muffler, it is necessary to simultaneously
replace the rear exhaust pipe as well..
The connection of the exhaust pipe to the front pipe is flexible and
self-tightening, so no sealing gasket is required. Some mufflers have connecting sleeves with slots that
provide a tighter connection with the mating exhaust pipe when the clamp is installed.
