GENERAL INFORMATION

Fuel injector installation

Warning.

To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury,

always replace the O-rings with new ones each time the injectors are disassembled.

Remove or disconnect:

PROCEDURE.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Relieve excess pressure in the fuel system.

3. Fuel rail assembly from the cylinder head. Removal of the

fuel rail can be performed without disconnecting the fuel supply and return lines.

Disassembly

PROCEDURE.

1. Slide the injector clip and disengage it from the seat protrusions,

spread the clip with your fingers and remove it. The clip is not reusable.

2. Remove the injector assembly from the seat.

3. Remove both O-rings from the injector and discard them, as the O-rings are not reusable.

Assembly.

PROCEDURE.

1. Lubricate the new O-rings with engine oil and install them on the

injector body.

2. Install a new clip on the injector body. The clip must be positioned

parallel to the electrical connector.

3. Insert the injector assemblies into the fuel rail seats so that the clips and electrical connectors face outward. Align the injector with the seat, engage the clip with the protrusions of the seat, and then fully push the injector into the seat until it stops.

Inspection.

PROCEDURE.

Turn the ignition on and, without starting the engine, check the fuel line connections for leaks.
