Ensuring Chemical Purity of Refrigerant and Refrigerant Oil
GENERAL INFORMATION.
Efficient operation and durability of the A/C system depend on the purity of the refrigerant..
If foreign substances (moisture, dirt, air) enter the A/C system, its operation is disrupted.
stability of the properties of the refrigerant and refrigerant oil. The temperature changes.
boiling and condensation of the refrigerant, which affects the efficiency of the A/C system, corrosion of the internal cavities of components and pipelines becomes possible.
system, and wear of parts accelerates. To ensure the chemical purity of the refrigerant in the
course of operation of the A/C system, the following general rules must be observed.
1. Before disconnecting A/C system fittings, thoroughly clean them of dirt.
and oil to prevent contamination of the system. Immediately after disconnecting the
pipeline, install protective caps on the fitting and pipeline, or
install plugs.
2. Tools must be kept clean and in a dry place. This requirement
also applies to the manifold gauge set and spare parts.
3. When adding refrigerant oil grade 525 or PAG, used with refrigerants R-12 and R-134a respectively, use only clean and dry containers and hoses to minimize the ingress of moisture into the oil.
4. When partially disassembling the A/C system or removing any component of the system, prepare all necessary tools and parts in advance in order to
minimize the time the A/C system is open. It is prohibited to leave the
A/C system open longer than necessary for repair and maintenance.
5. Each time the A/C system is opened, thoroughly evacuate air from it before charging with refrigerant. All A/C system spare parts
are dried and hermetically sealed or packed. Spare parts must be stored in factory packaging and unpacked only immediately before
installation. Before removing packaging and plugs, spare parts must be brought to
ambient air temperature to avoid moisture condensation on them. If for any reason a spare part has been unpacked and opened but not installed in the
A/C system, immediately reinstall the removed sealing plugs and repack the part.
