1. RECIRCULATION MODE BUTTON.

2. AIR CONDITIONER BUTTON.

3. 4-SPEED BLOWER CONTROL.

4. AIR DISTRIBUTION CONTROL.

5. AIR TEMPERATURE CONTROL.

The main heating system is designed to heat and ventilate the passenger compartment,

defrost and defog the windshield, and on some

vehicles, also to direct air to the side windows..

1) Electric blower fan (blower motor)..

Provides controlled supply of outside air into the passenger compartment, used further for air conditioning and distribution through the ventilation nozzles.

further for air conditioning and distribution through the ventilation nozzles..

2) Heater core..

Heats the air entering the passenger compartment using heat from the engine coolant..

3) Air temperature control door..

The position of the door determines the amount of air flowing through the heater core

and the temperature of the air entering the passenger compartment. Air heated in the heater

before entering the passenger compartment is mixed with ambient air..

4) Air distribution door..

Controls the distribution of heated air through the heater or defroster ducts.

windshield.

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control panel is located on the console in the passenger compartment. The panel has three

rotary controls and two buttons: air temperature control, which sets the mixing ratio of heated air with ambient

air;.

air distribution control for the windshield defrost nozzles, ventilation

outlets in the instrument panel and floor ventilation

outlets; 4-speed blower control; button 1 for recirculation mode

(outside air supply to the passenger compartment is shut off); button 2 for air conditioner. The air conditioner is switched on by pressing button 2 provided the blower is on (blower control in one of the four operating positions).

The air temperature control door is actuated by a cable, and the air distribution doors are actuated by vacuum..

To maximize the temperature of the air entering the passenger compartment,

turn the temperature control knob clockwise into the red zone of the scale..

To lower the air temperature to ambient level, turn the knob in the opposite direction into the blue zone of the scale.

The air temperature changes smoothly between the two extreme values as the control is turned in either direction. By setting the control to an intermediate position, you can obtain the

desired air temperature..

The 4-speed blower control operates independently of the temperature and air distribution controls. Blower speed and air flow

can be changed at any position of the temperature and

air distribution controls.
