Ford Escape. Charge SettingsCharging settings information for your plug-in hybrid vehicle is available through the Home screen or in the vehicle settings. To enhance your charging experience, your vehicle has the following convenience features.

Charge Time

Once you set a charge time for a specific charging location, your vehicle prioritizes charging according to your time preference settings. You can set two preferred charging time windows for weekdays and two for weekends. This feature allows you to take advantage of electricity rate plans that offer lower prices during certain times of day. Contact your utility company to see which plans are available.

Departure Time

Setting a departure time lets you control charging schedules and have the vehicle cabin heated or cooled while plugged in, so your vehicle is ready for your trip when you are. After setting a departure time, your vehicle can use your charge time settings to minimize electricity costs while still giving priority to completing the charge before your scheduled departure. The calendar lets you program two departure times per day for each day of the week.

Charge Time Information

  • High-power estimate: minimum time to 100% charge using a high-power charger.
  • Low-power estimate: maximum time to 100% charge using a low-power charger.

While charging, the start and end time estimate is displayed. When your vehicle is not connected and is at a location with charge time enabled, the start and end time display is based on known charging power.
