Tire Pressure Check. Inflating the Tires
Tire Pressure Check
Safe operation of your vehicle requires that your tires be properly inflated. Remember that a tire can lose up to half of its air pressure without appearing flat. Check your tires every day before driving. If one looks lower than the others, use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure in all tires and adjust as necessary.
At least once a month and before long trips, inspect each tire and check the tire pressure with a tire pressure gauge (including the spare, if equipped). Inflate all tires to the cold inflation pressure recommended by the manufacturer.
Inflating the Tires
Use the recommended cold inflation pressure for optimum tire performance and wear. Under-inflation or over-inflation may cause uneven tread wear patterns.
Always inflate the tires to the recommended inflation pressure, even if it is lower than the maximum inflation pressure information found on the tire. The Tire Label, which contains the manufacturer's recommended tire inflation pressure based on tire size and other important information, is located on the B-pillar or driver's door edge.
The recommended tire pressure is also shown on the Certification Label for motor vehicle safety, attached to any door pillar, latch pillar or door edge that matches the door latch on the B-pillar or on the driver's door edge.
Failure to follow tire pressure recommendations may cause uneven tread wear and adversely affect how your vehicle handles.
