Passive Anti-Theft System

What is the Passive Anti-Theft System

The passive anti-theft system prevents someone from starting the vehicle with an improperly coded key.

How the Passive Anti-Theft System Works

The passive anti-theft system activates when you turn the ignition off.

It deactivates when you turn the ignition on with a properly coded key.

Anti-Theft System

What is the Anti-Theft System

The anti-theft system warns you of unauthorized entry into your vehicle.

How the Anti-Theft System Works

When armed, the anti-theft alarm is triggered by any of the following:

  • If someone opens a door, the liftgate or the hood without a properly coded key or remote transmitter.
  • If power is supplied without a properly coded key.
  • If the interior sensors detect movement inside your vehicle.
  • If the tilt sensors detect an attempt to lift the vehicle.
  • If someone disconnects the vehicle battery or the backup battery siren.

If the alarm is triggered, the horn sounds for 30 seconds and the turn signals flash for 5 minutes.

Any further attempts to perform one of the above actions again will sound the alarm.

What is Perimeter Alarm

The perimeter alarm is designed to detect unauthorized access to your vehicle.

What are Interior Sensors

Interior sensors are designed to detect any movement inside your vehicle.

The interior sensors are located in the overhead console.

What are Tilt Sensors

The tilt sensor is designed to detect an attempt to lift the vehicle, for example to remove a wheel or tow it away.

What is the Backup Battery Siren

The backup battery siren is an additional alarm with its own battery and horn. It is designed to detect when the vehicle battery or the backup battery siren is disconnected.

Arming the Anti-Theft System

The alarm is ready to arm when there is no key in your vehicle.

Lock your vehicle with the remote transmitter to arm the alarm.

Disarming the Anti-Theft System

Disarm the alarm by doing any of the following:

  • Unlock the doors or cargo area with the remote transmitter.
  • Turn the ignition on or start the vehicle.
