Roof Rack Installation Precautions

You must place loads directly on the crossbars attached to the side rails of the roof rack. When using a roof rack system, we recommend that you use genuine Ford accessory crossbars designed specifically for your vehicle.

Make sure the load is securely fastened. Check load security before driving and at every refueling stop.

  1. Loosen the crossbar bolt using the supplied tool or a similar tool.
  2. Move the crossbar to the new position.
  3. Tighten the bolt using the supplied tool or a similar tool.

Roof Rack Load Capacity

Do not install crossbars if your vehicle has a sunroof. Do not load the roof of a vehicle that has a sunroof. Using crossbars or roof loading on a vehicle with a sunroof may void your vehicle warranty.
