Ignition Lock

~1min read
Замок зажигания имеет четыре положения:

The ignition switch has four positions:

LOCK (0), ACCESSORY (I), ON (II) and START (III).

LOCK (0) position — The key can be inserted into or removed from the ignition switch only in this position. To turn the key, press it in slightly. On vehicles with an automatic transmission, the shift lever must be in P (Park).

If the front wheels are turned, the steering column lock may make it difficult to turn the ignition key from the LOCK (0) position.

In this case, turn the steering wheel slightly left and right while turning the key.

ACCESSORY (I) position — In this key position, the audio system, cigarette lighter, and power outlet (if equipped) can be operated.

ON (II) position — IGNITION ON. The key remains in this position while the vehicle is being driven. When the key is turned from the ACCESSORY (I) position to the ON (II) position, some indicators and warning lights on the instrument panel illuminate briefly to check that they are working.

On some vehicle versions, the headlights also turn on automatically.

START (III) position — This position is used only to start the engine. After the engine starts, release the key, and it will automatically return to the ON (II) position.

The vehicle is equipped with a chime that sounds when the driver's door is opened to remind you that the key has been left in the ignition switch in the LOCK (0) or ACCESSORY (I) position. In addition, the symbol«IGNITION KEY» (Ключ зажигания). Как только ключ будет вынут из замка зажигания, is shown on the multi-information display, and may be accompanied by the message "IGNITION KEY". As soon as the key is removed from the ignition switch, the warning chime stops and the symbol disappears from the display.
