Cargo Shelf

The cargo shelf divides the cargo area of the vehicle into two sections.

The upper section can be used to store small and light items.

Place heavy items in the lower section. To increase the usable cargo volume, you can stow the cargo shelf in the designated location in the floor.

Make sure the cargo shelf is fully extended and securely locked.

To remove the shelf, lift its rear part and fold it forward until it aligns with the front part. Press up on both sides of the shelf, then pull it toward you.

To remove the cargo shelf, lift it by either edge, then remove it as shown in the illustration.

Place the cargo shelf in the rear part of the cargo area floor, then slide it forward while extending the upper part of the shelf.

The cargo shelf can be placed on the cargo area floor as shown in the illustration.

To return the cargo shelf to its operating position, perform this procedure in reverse order. Make sure the shelf is securely attached.

If the second row seats are folded, do not use the cargo shelf.

During emergency braking or a collision, objects on the shelf may be thrown forward with force and injure passengers.

If the second row seats are folded down or forward, do not use the shelf. Store the shelf on the cargo area floor. In an accident, the shelf may come loose from its mounts.

The maximum load on the cargo shelf is 10 kg. The maximum load is indicated on the label located on the left side of the shelf (see the illustration on the following page). To avoid damaging the cargo shelf, do not exceed the maximum load limit.

Make sure that all items in the cargo area are securely fastened. Unsecured items may be thrown forward with force in the event of sudden braking and injure vehicle occupants (see "Cargo Transport" on page 365).

To avoid damaging the cargo shelf, do not place items with a total mass of more than 10 kg on it.
