Maintenance Schedule (Basics)
The maintenance schedule includes a complete list of work required to keep the vehicle in good working order. All maintenance operations must be performed only by qualified personnel, using specified procedures, appropriate equipment, and in accordance with the standards adopted in the Honda service network. The working conditions and personnel of an authorized Honda dealer service station fully meet all applicable requirements.
This manual provides two types of maintenance schedules.
One is intended for vehicles with a gasoline engine (see page 433), and the other is for vehicles with a diesel engine (see page 436).
The maintenance schedule for vehicles intended for European countries is provided in a separate service booklet, which is part of the documentation supplied with the vehicle in those countries.
The maintenance schedule given in the Owner's Manual on pages 429 – 436 applies to all vehicles except those supplied to EU countries and South Africa.
The maintenance schedule for vehicles intended for South Africa is provided in a separate service booklet, which is part of the documentation supplied with the vehicle in that country.
The maintenance operations and their intervals are established on the assumption that the vehicle is used as a personal vehicle for carrying passengers and luggage. During vehicle operation, observe the following rules:
• Do not exceed the maximum permitted vehicle weight. Overloading the vehicle places additional stress on the engine, brakes, and other components and parts.
• Operate the vehicle on paved roads and observe speed limits.
• Use the vehicle regularly, avoiding frequent short trips (several kilometers).
For vehicles with a gasoline engine
• Use only gasoline of the recommended type and quality.
For vehicles with a diesel engine
• Use only diesel fuel of the recommended type and quality.
When performing vehicle maintenance, it is recommended to use only genuine Honda parts and fluids recommended by Honda, or their equivalent substitutes. Parts and materials supplied to the Honda service network are not different in quality from those used at the assembly plants, so you can be confident that they fully suit your vehicle and will function flawlessly.
For vehicles with a diesel engine
Do not press down forcefully on the engine cover.
This may damage the cover and other components.
