If additional battery service is required, contact an authorized dealer.

Before connecting a charger to the battery, disconnect both battery cables from the terminals, otherwise the vehicle's electrical equipment may be damaged.

Always disconnect the negative (–) cable first, and connect it last.

Even in good condition and under normal operation, the battery produces explosive hydrogen gas. Therefore, sparks or an open flame near the battery may cause an explosion of sufficient force to result in serious injury and burns.

Keep sparks, open flames and lit cigarettes away from the battery.

When performing battery maintenance yourself, wear protective clothing and safety glasses or a clear face shield, or have battery service performed by a service station specialist.

The battery contains a sulfuric acid solution (electrolyte), which is highly corrosive and very poisonous.

If electrolyte gets into your eyes or onto exposed skin, you may suffer severe chemical burns. Always wear protective eyewear and clothing when working with the battery. Swallowing electrolyte can be fatal if emergency measures are not taken to help the injured person.

KEEP THE BATTERY OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.

Emergency first aid: If electrolyte gets into the eyes, flush the eyes with clean water for at least 15 minutes. Using a strong stream of water may injure the eyes. Seek medical attention immediately.

If electrolyte gets on the skin, remove the clothing that was contaminated with electrolyte.

Flush the acid-affected area of skin thoroughly with large amounts of water.

Seek medical attention immediately.

If electrolyte is swallowed, drink water or milk.

Seek medical attention immediately.
