Engine Oil Top-Up (Diesel Engine Vehicles)

To add engine oil, remove the filler cap located on the valve cover. Add oil slowly and carefully to avoid spilling it. Wipe up any spilled oil immediately.

Spilled oil may damage components located in the engine compartment.

Install the oil filler cap and tighten it securely. Warm up the engine, then stop it and wait approximately 3 minutes before checking the engine oil level with the dipstick. Do not overfill the engine above the upper mark on the dipstick, as this may damage the engine.

Recommended Engine Oil

Use only synthetic engine oil that meets ACEA specifications, with the viscosity shown in the chart. When using synthetic engine oil, follow the oil and oil filter replacement intervals specified in the vehicle maintenance schedule.

Use only genuine Honda Motor Oil synthetic engine oil with 0W-30 viscosity that meets ACEA C2 or ACEA C3 specifications.

To correctly determine the SAE or ACEA viscosity grade of engine oil suitable for your vehicle's engine, refer to the chart below.

NOTE: 0W-30 viscosity engine oil helps improve fuel economy.

Engine Oil Additives

Your vehicle's engine does not require any additional engine oil additives. Using various additives may adversely affect the performance and durability of the engine and transmission.
