Air Conditioning System

The vehicle is equipped with a sealed air conditioning system. All main air conditioning maintenance, such as refrigerant charging, must be performed by qualified personnel at an authorized dealer service center. The vehicle owner should only periodically check that the air conditioning system operates normally.
Periodically inspect and clean the outside of the engine cooling radiator and air conditioning condenser cores to remove dirt, leaves, insects, and other debris. These materials restrict airflow and reduce cooling efficiency. To clean the radiator and condenser, use a low-pressure stream of water or a soft brush.
Radiator and condenser fins can be easily bent if handled carelessly. Therefore, do not clean them with a high-pressure water stream or a stiff brush.
During the autumn and winter season, operate the air conditioning system regularly, at least once a week. After the engine has warmed up to normal operating temperature, run the air conditioning system for at least 10 minutes while driving at a steady speed. This keeps the system lubricated, since the refrigerant contains oil.
If the air conditioning cooling performance decreases, have the system checked at an authorized dealer service center. The air conditioning system is charged with HFC-134a (R-134a) refrigerant.
Special equipment is required to service the air conditioning system.
This equipment recovers and recycles the refrigerant. Releasing refrigerant vapor into the atmosphere harms the environment.
