Adding Engine Oil (for Vehicles with Gasoline Engines)

To add engine oil, remove the filler cap located on the valve cover. Add oil slowly and carefully to avoid spilling it. Wipe up any spilled oil immediately.

Spilled oil may damage components located in the engine compartment.

Reinstall the filler cap and tighten it securely. Start the engine and let it warm up, then stop the engine and wait about three minutes. Check the engine oil level with the dipstick. Do not overfill above the upper mark on the dipstick, as this may damage the engine.
