PROCEDURE

1. Install the bushing and crankshaft pulley as shown in the illustration. Pay attention to their installation direction.
Tightening torque: 140–150 N·m

2. Install the camshaft pulley and secure it with the bolt, tightening to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 80–100 N·m
3. Align the alignment marks on the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys with the pointers, so that the piston of cylinder 1 is at TDC on the compression stroke.

4. When installing the timing belt tensioner, first install the tensioner, spring and spacer. Temporarily tighten the bolts. Then, temporarily compress the tensioner by inserting a bolt into the elongated hole. Install the rear end of the flat spring against the front cover, as shown in the illustration.
5. Secure the tensioner pulled back toward the water pump.
6. Install the timing belt onto the crankshaft sprocket.

8. Loosen tensioner mounting bolts 1 and 2 in the sequence shown in the illustration. This will release the timing belt tensioner spring.

9. Tighten tensioner mounting bolts 1 and 2 in the same sequence.

10. Rotate the engine crankshaft clockwise two full turns and align the mark on the crankshaft timing belt sprocket with the pointer on the engine cylinder block. Check that the mark on the camshaft sprocket is aligned with the pointer on the cylinder head cover.

Do not rotate the engine crankshaft counterclockwise.

11. Loosen tensioner mounting bolts 1 and 2 in the same sequence.
12. Tighten tensioner mounting bolts 1 and 2 in the same sequence.
Tightening torque: 20–27 N·m

13. Recheck the timing belt tension. When pressing the tension side of the timing belt with a force of 49 N, the timing belt should deflect to the center of the tensioner mounting bolt head.

14. Установите кожухи зубчатого ремня.

14. Install the timing belt covers.
Tightening torque: 10–12 N·m
15. Install the crankshaft pulley.
16. Install the poly-V belt for the fan drive and adjust its tension.
17. Install the water pump pulley.
18. Install the poly-V belt and adjust its tension.
