Do not bend the timing belt sharply or change its direction of rotation. Do not allow oil or grease to contact the timing belt, as this will cause it to deteriorate.

PROCEDURE

1. Inspect the timing belt for damage, wear, delamination, cracks in the teeth and at the tooth roots, and defects on the edges and back side of the belt.
2. Replace the timing belt if any of the following defects are found.
