When measuring the tension of the poly-V belt, make sure the tool does not contact other engine components.

PROCEDURE

1. When measuring, make sure to turn the reset button in the direction of the arrow to return the tool pointer to its initial position.

2. After removing the tool from the belt, the pointer will still indicate the belt tension.

Do not adjust belt tension by hand, as this method does not provide sufficient accuracy and the belt may slip on the pulleys. Always use the special tool.

Check that the belt tension is within the specified values.
Check belt tension after tightening the pivot bolt and the alternator mounting bolt.
