Valve Spring

PROCEDURE

1. Inspect each valve spring for cracks and damage.
2. Measure the free length of the spring. Place the spring on a flat horizontal surface and measure the deviation of the spring top from the vertical plane.
Free length of spring: 42.03 mm
Length of spring under 24.7 kg load: 34.5 mm
Maximum allowable spring deviation from vertical plane: 1.5° or less

Valve Guides

Check the clearance between the valve stem and the valve guide. If the clearance exceeds the limit, replace the valve guide with an oversize valve guide.

Clearance between valve stem and valve guide:

Intake valves: 0.03–0.06 mm

Exhaust valves: 0.035–0.065 mm

Maximum allowable clearance between valve stem and valve guide:

Intake valves: 0.1 mm

Exhaust valves: 0.15 mm
