Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP SENSOR)

CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (CKP SENSOR)
The crankshaft position sensor (magnetic induction type) consists of a magnet and a coil located near the engine flywheel. Based on the signals (voltage pulses) from the crankshaft position sensor, the engine control module determines the crankshaft rotational speed (RPM) and the position of the crankshaft throws.

SENSOR INSPECTION (FOR 1.6L I4 ENGINE)
1. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
2. Measure the resistance between sensor terminals 1 and 2.
Specified value: 0.486 - 0.594 kΩ at 20 °C

3. If the measured resistance does not match the specified value, replace the sensor.
Specification - Clearance between sensor rotor tooth and sensor tip: 0.5 - 1.5 mm. Torque Specification - Crankshaft Position Sensor: 9 - 11 N·m
