DTC Troubleshooting - P1605/P1606

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The acceleration sensor is sensitive to road surface irregularities. The engine control module uses the acceleration sensor signal to prevent misdiagnosis of misfires in the engine cylinders.
DTC SET CONDITIONS
[For P1605] The ECM will store the DTC and illuminate the MIL if, during two driving cycles, the acceleration sensor signal voltage is less than 1.5 V or greater than 3.5 V. This code indicates that the acceleration sensor or ECM has detected extremely rough or unusually smooth road surface data.
[For P1606] The ECM will store the DTC and illuminate the MIL if, during two driving cycles, the acceleration sensor signal indicates acceleration of 0.3 g or more when vehicle speed is 0 km/h. This code indicates that the acceleration sensor or ECM has detected bump data at zero vehicle speed.
