DTC Troubleshooting - P1611/P1613

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

The MIL request signal line is used by the TCM to inform the ECM of transmission-related DTCs.

DTC SET CONDITIONS

[For P1611] The ECM will store the DTC and illuminate the MIL if, during two driving cycles, the available voltage is 80% of battery voltage. This check is performed once per trip for 6 seconds when engine speed is above 240 rpm. This code indicates that the voltage on the MIL request line is lower than expected from the ECM.

[For DTC P1613] The ECM will store the DTC and illuminate the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) if the available voltage value is 120% of the battery voltage for two driving cycles. This check is performed once per trip, when terminal 15 ("L" line) of the Data Link Connector (DLC) is activated ("ON") and the engine speed is less than 800 rpm. This DTC indicates that voltage data higher than expected is present on the request bus from the Engine Control Module (ECM).
