Information

After reconnecting the vehicle battery or charging the battery, it may take time to operate due to the remote security information update. When locking or unlocking the door with NFC, please touch and hold the smartphone on the door handle until it operates.

When the mobile data connection of the smartphone is weak, the remote security information update may fail. In this case, you must lock, unlock, or start the vehicle with the key card. When you are in a place where the smartphone's mobile data connection is available and place your smartphone on the interior authentication pad (wireless charger) and start your vehicle, or touch the digital key to the door handle to lock or unlock the door, the remote security information update starts automatically. Even though the engine is on, please wait until the remote update process is completed and the wireless charger switches to charging mode.

CAUTION

The engine can be started if the registered smartphone or key card is placed on the interior authentication pad (wireless charger). Do not leave children or people who are unfamiliar with the system unattended, as this may result in serious injury or death. Always keep the registered digital key (smartphone) or key card with you to prevent vehicle theft when leaving the vehicle.

  • The POWER button is in the ACC or ON position.
  • Any door is open.

If the smartphone and the vehicle are connected via Bluetooth but the remote control command is not received for more than 5 minutes, the remote control connection is automatically canceled.

CAUTION

  • If metallic window tint has been applied to your vehicle, it may cause a poor Bluetooth connection or reduced performance of the Digital Key.
  • If multiple users operate the remote control function at the same time, communication between the Digital Key and the vehicle may cause the command to fail. Please connect and use the remote control function only with the intended user.
  • When using the remote control operation, the driver (remote control user) must leave the vehicle after confirming door lock (the horn sounds once and the hazard warning lights flash).
  • The remote functions of the Digital Key application allow the vehicle to be controlled from a set distance. If the Digital Key or the vehicle moves beyond the operating distance, the remote control function may be disabled or canceled.
  • If the Digital Key (smartphone) linked to the vehicle for remote control is taken far away from the vehicle by the driver, the function may not work.
  • If the remote control operation is performed where mobile signal is weak, Bluetooth communication is poor due to multiple Bluetooth devices, or there is an object such as metal or concrete, the response may be delayed or the operating distance may decrease. Do not cover the smartphone with your hand or place other devices that may cause radio frequency interference. This may result in poor performance.
  • If the remote control function is not available, please use the NFC function to lock or unlock the doors.

Remote Start Using the Digital Key

  • When the vehicle's shift lever is in P (Park), all doors, including the trunk and hood, are locked, and the vehicle is off, press the door lock button in the Hyundai Digital Key application, then press and hold the Remote Start button for 4 seconds.
