Driving Your Vehicle

Canceled Automatically

~2min read
  • The driver door is opened.
  • The shift lever is in N (Neutral), R (Reverse) or P (Park).
  • The EPB (Electric Parking Brake) is applied.
  • Vehicle speed is above 120 km/h.
  • The vehicle stops on a steep incline.
  • ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TCS (Traction Control System) or ABS is operating.
  • ESC is turned off.
  • The sensor or cover is contaminated or blocked by foreign matter.
  • The vehicle has been stopped for more than 5 minutes.
  • The vehicle stops and starts repeatedly over a long period of time.
  • The driver starts moving by pushing the lever up (RES+) or down (SET-), approximately 3 seconds after the vehicle has stopped with the Smart Cruise Control System and there is no vehicle ahead.
  • The driver starts moving by pushing the lever up (RES+) or down (SET-) after the vehicle has stopped with a vehicle stopped far ahead.
  • The accelerator pedal is depressed continuously for more than one minute.

Each of these actions cancels Smart Cruise Control operation. (The set speed and vehicle-to-vehicle distance on the LCD display will turn off.)

When Smart Cruise Control is automatically canceled, it will not resume operation even if the RES+ or SET- lever is pressed. Also, the EPB will be applied when the vehicle is stopped.

✽ NOTICE

If Smart Cruise Control is deactivated for reasons other than those listed above, have your vehicle checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

If the system is canceled, a warning chime will sound and a message will appear for several seconds.

You must adjust the vehicle speed by depressing the accelerator or brake pedal according to the road conditions ahead and traffic conditions.

Always check road conditions. Do not rely on the warning chime.

To Resume Smart Cruise Control Set Speed

If any method other than the CRUISE lever is used to cancel the cruise speed and the system is still activated, the cruise speed will automatically resume when you push the lever up (RES+) or down (SET-).

If you push the lever up (RES+), the speed will return to the recently set speed. However, if the vehicle speed drops below approximately 20 mph (30 km/h), it will resume when there is a vehicle ahead of your vehicle.

✽ NOTICE

Always check road conditions when you push the lever up (RES+) to resume the set speed.

To Turn Off Cruise Control

Press the CRUISE button (the CRUISE indicator will turn off).
