Hyundai i30. Blind-spot collision warning (BCW) system

[A] : Blind Spot
[B] : High-Speed Closing

The Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to monitor and warn the driver of approaching vehicles in the driver's blind spot.

The system monitors the rear area of the vehicle and provides information to the driver through an audible alert and an indicator on the outside rearview mirror.

(1) BCW: Blind Spot

The BCW detection range varies according to vehicle speed. Note that if your vehicle is traveling much faster than the vehicles around you, no warning will be given.

(2) BCW: High-Speed Closing

The BCW High-Speed Closing function warns you when a vehicle is approaching quickly in an adjacent lane. If the driver turns on the turn signal when the system detects an approaching vehicle, the system sounds an audible alert. The distance of an approaching vehicle may be perceived differently depending on relative speed.

(3) RCCW (Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning)

The RCCW function monitors cross-traffic approaching from the left and right sides of the vehicle when the vehicle is moving in reverse. The function operates when the vehicle is reversing below approximately 6 mph (10 km/h). If approaching cross-traffic is detected, a warning sound will be activated.

The distance of an approaching vehicle may be perceived differently depending on relative speed.
