Wipers
Blade Inspection
Contamination of the windshield or wiper blades with foreign substances may reduce wiper performance.
Common sources of contamination include insects, tree sap, and hot wax treatments used by some commercial car washes. If the blades do not wipe properly, clean both the windshield and the blades with a good glass cleaner or mild detergent, and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
NOTICE
To avoid damaging the wiper blades, arms, or other components, do not:
- Do not use gasoline, kerosene, paint thinner, or other solvents on or near the wiper blades.
- Attempt to move the wipers by hand.
- Use wiper blades other than those specified.
Information
Commercial hot waxes applied at automatic car washes are known to make the windshield difficult to clean.
Information
Wiper blades are consumable parts. Normal wear of the wiper blades may not be covered by your vehicle warranty.
Blade Replacement
When the wipers no longer clean adequately, the blades may be worn or cracked and must be replaced.
NOTICE
To avoid damage to the wiper arms or other components, do not attempt to move the wipers by hand.
NOTICE
Using a wiper blade other than the specified type may result in wiper malfunction and failure.
NOTICE
- To avoid damage to the hood and wipers, raise the wiper arms only when they are in the upper wiping position.
- Always return the wiper arms to the windshield before driving.
Front Wiper Arm Service Position

This vehicle has a "hidden" wiper design, which means the wiper arms cannot be raised when they are in their lower rest position.
1. Within 20 seconds after turning the engine off, move the wiper lever down and hold it in the service position for about 2 seconds before turning the wipers back to the upper cleaning position.
2. In this position, the wiper arms can be raised from the windshield.
3. Carefully lower the wiper arms onto the windshield.
4. Turn the ignition ON and turn the wipers to return them to the lower rest position.
Enter

1. Raise the wiper arm and rotate the wiper blade assembly to release the plastic latch.

2. Press the clip and slide the blade assembly down.
3. Remove it from the arm.
4. Install the blade assembly in the reverse order of removal.

2. Install the new blade assembly by inserting the center part into the slot in the wiper arm until it clicks into place.

To avoid damage to the wiper arms or other components, we recommend having the wiper blades replaced at an authorized HYUNDAI service center.
