A wireless mobile phone charger is located inside the front console.

The system is available when all doors are closed and the ignition switch is in the ACC/ON position.

To charge a mobile phone

The wireless mobile phone charging system only charges devices that support Qi wireless charging mobile phones (Hyundai i30. system). Read the label on the mobile phone accessory or visit your mobile phone manufacturer's website to check whether your mobile phone supports Qi wireless charging technology.

Wireless charging starts when you place a Qi-compatible mobile phone on the wireless charging pad.

1. Remove all other items, including the smart key, from the wireless charging unit. Otherwise, the wireless charging process may be interrupted.

2. The indicator light turns orange while the phone is charging. The indicator light turns green when charging is complete.

3. You can turn the wireless charging function on or off in the User Settings mode on the instrument cluster. For more information, refer to "LCD Modes" in this chapter.

If your phone does not charge:

- Slightly reposition the mobile phone on the charging pad.
- Make sure the indicator light is orange.

Depending on the mobile phone type, the indicator light may not turn green even though charging is fully complete.

The indicator light will flash orange for 10 seconds if there is a malfunction in the wireless charging system.

In this case, temporarily stop the charging process and try wireless charging of the mobile phone again.

The system warns you with a message on the LCD if the mobile phone is still on the wireless charging unit after the engine is turned off and the driver's door is opened.

NOTICE

  • The wireless mobile phone charging system may not support some mobile phones that are not tested for the Qi specification (Hyundai i30. system).
  • Position your mobile phone in the center of the wireless mobile phone charging system. Even when your mobile phone is slightly off-center, the charging speed may decrease.
  • The wireless charging process may temporarily stop while the smart key function is operating (i.e., engine start, door opening, door closing).
  • For some mobile phones, the indicator light may not change to green even when the wireless charging process has completed normally.
  • The wireless charging process may temporarily stop when the temperature inside the wireless mobile phone charging system abnormally increases. The wireless charging process restarts when the temperature drops to a certain level.
  • The wireless charging process may temporarily stop if any metallic object, such as a coin, is between the wireless mobile phone charging system and the mobile phone.
