Tire replacement

~1min read

If the tire wears evenly, the tread wear indicator will appear as a solid band across the tread. This means the tread depth is less than 1.6 mm (1/16 inch).

If this occurs, replace the tire.

Replace the tire without waiting for the band to appear across the full width of the tread.

WARNING

- Tire Replacement

• Driving on worn tires is very dangerous and reduces braking efficiency, steering accuracy, and road grip.
• The original tires are designed to ensure safe driving and handling. Do not use tires or wheels of a different type or size. This may affect safety and vehicle performance and may result in loss of control or rollover, which can cause serious injury. Replacement tires must have the same tread pattern and be the same size, type, brand, and load capacity on all four wheels.
• Using tires of any other size or type may significantly change ride comfort, handling, ground clearance, braking distance, clearance between the body and tires, ground clearance with winter tires, and the accuracy of the speedometer.
• It is best to replace all four tires at the same time.

If this is not possible or not required, replace the front pair or the rear pair of tires.

Replacing only one tire may seriously affect vehicle handling.
• The anti-lock braking system operates by comparing wheel rotational speeds. Tire size also affects wheel rotational speed. When replacing tires, replace all four tires as a set and only with tires of the same size as those supplied with the vehicle. Using tires of a different size may cause the anti-lock braking system and the electronic stability control system (if equipped) to malfunction.
