Tire Rotation

~1min read

To even out tread wear, rotate the tires every 12,000 km (7,500 miles) or sooner if uneven wear occurs.

When rotating the tires, check that the wheels are properly balanced.

When rotating, inspect the tires for uneven wear and damage. Excessive wear is usually caused by incorrect tire pressure, incorrect wheel alignment, wheel imbalance, or hard braking and cornering. Make sure there are no bumps or bulges on the tread or sidewalls. If any of these defects are found, replace the tire.

Also replace the tire if the cord fabric or cords are visible. After rotating the tires, make sure the front and rear tire pressures match the recommended values, and check the wheel nut torque.

При перестановке колес необходимо проверить тормозные колодки на предмет износа.

When rotating the tires, check the brake pads for wear.

NOTE

If radial tires with an asymmetric tread pattern are used, the front wheels may only be moved to the rear. Do not move wheels from the left side to the right side.

WARNING

• Do not use the compact spare tire when rotating.
• Never use bias-ply and radial-ply tires on the vehicle at the same time. This may change the vehicle handling on the road and, as a result, cause serious injury, death, or property damage.
