After operating under heavy load, allow the engine to idle for a few minutes before shutting it off. This idle period allows the engine oil and coolant to carry excess heat away from the turbocharger.

Under certain conditions, the engine cooling fan will continue to run after the engine is shut off. These conditions include heavy load and high temperature.
