LFA may activate prematurely even if the vehicle is not departing from the intended lane, OR, LFA may not assist your steering or warn you if the vehicle leaves the intended lane under the following circumstances:
When lane markings and road conditions are poor
- It is difficult to distinguish lane markings from the road surface, or lane markings are worn or not clearly marked.
- It is difficult to distinguish the color of the lane marking from the road surface.
- The road has a marking surface similar to lane markings that is unintentionally detected by the front view camera.
- Lane markings are faded or damaged.
- Lane markings are merged or divided (for example, a toll gate).
- The number of lanes increases or decreases, or the lane marker intersection is complex.
- There are more than two lane markers on the road ahead of you.
- Lane markings are very thick or thin.
- Lane markings ahead are not visible due to rain, snow, water on the road, a damaged or painted road surface, or other factors.
- Shadows fall on the lane markings from the median strip, trees, guardrails, noise barriers, etc.
- Lane markings are complex or the structure replaces the lines, such as at a construction site.
- There are pedestrian crossing signs or other symbols on the road.
- Lane markings in tunnel are dirty with oil, etc.
- The lane suddenly disappears, for example at an intersection.
- There are zigzag lane markings and road signs on the road.
When external conditions interfere
- The outside brightness changes suddenly, such as when entering or exiting a tunnel or passing under a bridge.
- The outside brightness is too low, for example, when the headlights are not on at night or the vehicle is passing through a tunnel.
- There is a boundary structure next to the road, such as a concrete barrier, guardrail, or reflector post, that is unintentionally detected by the front view camera.
- When light from street lights or reflection of an oncoming vehicle on a wet road surface, such as a puddle, is present.
- The forward field of view is blocked by sun glare.
- There is not enough distance between you and the vehicle ahead to be able to detect the lane marker or the vehicle ahead is driving on the lane markings.
- Driving on a steep slope, over a hill, or on a curved road.
- Adverse road conditions cause excessive vibration of the vehicle during driving.
- Temperature around the inside rear view mirror is high due to direct sunlight, etc.
- Sensor recognition changes suddenly when driving over a speed bump or driving up/down or right/left on a steep road.
When forward visibility is poor
- The windshield or front view camera lens is covered with dirt, debris, or tinted film.
- The windshield is fogged; clear view of the road is obstructed.
- Placing objects on the instrument panel, etc.
- The sensor cannot detect the lane due to fog, heavy rain or snow.
