Maintenance-Free Battery

- Achten Sie darauf, dass die Batterie immer sicher befestigt ist.
- Keep the top of the battery clean and dry.
- Keep battery posts and terminal clamps clean, tight and lightly greased with petroleum jelly or grease.
- Spülen Sie ausgelaufene Batteriesäure unverzüglich mit einer Lösung aus Wasser und Backpulver ab.
- Disconnect the battery cable before leaving the vehicle unused for an extended period.
WARNING
The installed battery is essentially maintenance-free. If the vehicle is equipped with a battery with LOWER and UPPER marks printed on the side, you can check the electrolyte level. The electrolyte level should be between LOWER and UPPER. If the level is low, add distilled (demineralized) water. (Never add sulfuric acid or other electrolyte.) When adding water, do not overfill the battery or splash the battery and surrounding components. Do not overfill the battery cells. This may cause corrosion of other parts. Make sure the cell caps are tightly closed. Contact a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer or Kia service partner.
WARNING
Gefahren durch die Batterie
Always read the following instructions before working on the battery.
Keep burning cigarettes and all other flames and sparks away from the battery.
Hydrogen, a highly explosive gas, is constantly present in the battery cells and can explode if ignited.
Keep batteries away from children, as batteries contain aggressive sulfuric acid. Do not allow battery acid to contact eyes, skin, clothing and painted surfaces.
If battery acid gets into your eyes, rinse them with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. If battery acid gets on your skin, wash the affected area thoroughly. If you feel pain or burning, seek medical attention immediately.
Wear protective goggles when charging the battery or working near it. Always provide adequate ventilation when working in enclosed spaces.
Improperly disposed batteries pose a danger to the environment and health. Dispose of the battery in accordance with local laws or regulations.
The battery contains lead. Do not dispose of it with household waste after use. Contact a specialized workshop. Kia recommends visiting a Kia dealer or Kia service partner.
- When lifting plastic-case batteries, pressing hard on the case may damage the battery. This may cause injury. Lift the battery with a lifting device, or hold it with both hands on opposite corners.
- Never attempt to charge a battery while the battery cables are connected.
- The electrical ignition system operates with high voltage. Never touch ignition system components with the engine running or the ignition on.
Bei Nichtbeachtung der oben aufgeführten Warnhinweise besteht die Gefahr schwerer oder tödlicher Verletzungen.
WARNING
- If you store the vehicle at cold temperatures for an extended period, remove the battery and store it indoors.
- Always fully charge the battery in cold temperatures to prevent damage to the battery case.
- If you connect non-approved electronic devices, the battery may become overloaded. Never use non-approved devices.
