Replacing Fuses (Passenger Compartment)

1. Schalten Sie die Zündung und alle elektrischen Schalter aus.
2. Öffnen Sie den Sicherungskastendeckel.

3. Pull the suspected faulty fuse straight out of its socket. Use the fuse puller from the main fuse box in the engine compartment.
4. Inspect the removed fuse and replace it if it is blown. Spare fuses are located in the fuse box on the instrument panel (or in the fuse box in the engine compartment).
5. Insert a new fuse with the same amperage rating and make sure it is firmly seated in its socket.
If the fuse is loose, have it inspected by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
If no spare fuse with the same amperage rating is available, temporarily use a fuse from another circuit that is not currently needed (e.g., cigarette lighter).
If the headlights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signal lights or daytime running lights do not work and the fuses are OK, check the fuse box in the engine compartment. Replace any blown fuses.
Memory Fuse

Your vehicle is equipped with a memory fuse, which prevents the vehicle battery from discharging during long periods of non-use. Proceed as follows if you will not use the vehicle for an extended period.
1. Stellen Sie den Motor ab.
2. Schalten Sie Scheinwerfer und Standlicht aus.
3. Öffnen Sie den Sicherungskasten auf der Fahrerseite und Ziehen Sie die Memory-Sicherung heraus.
WARNING
- If the memory fuse is removed, the audio signal, audio system, clock, interior lights, etc. will stop functioning. After reinserting the fuse, some functions must be reset. See "Battery" on page 8-67.
- Even if the memory fuse has been removed, the battery can still be discharged through the headlights and other electrical loads.
