Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light

~1min read

This indicator illuminates when the ignition switch is turned on and turns off after approximately 3 seconds if the system is operating normally.

If the ABS warning light remains illuminated, illuminates while driving, or does not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the ON position, there may be a problem with the ABS.

In this case, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer. The normal brake system will still operate, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system.

Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) System Warning Light

If the ABS and EBD warning lights illuminate at the same time while driving, there may be a malfunction in the ABS and EBD system.

In this case, your ABS and standard brake system may not operate normally. We recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

✽ NOTICE

If the ABS warning light or EBD warning light remains illuminated, the speedometer or odometer/trip meter may not operate. In addition, the EPS warning light may illuminate, and the steering effort may increase or decrease. In this case, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

WARNING

If both the ABS and brake warning lights remain illuminated, your vehicle's brake system will not operate normally. As a result, you may experience an unexpected and dangerous situation during hard braking. In this case, avoid driving at high speeds and hard braking, except in an emergency.

We recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
