Engine oil level warning light

~1min read

The engine oil level warning light comes on when the engine oil level needs to be checked.

If the warning light comes on, check the engine oil level as soon as possible and add engine oil as necessary.

Slowly pour the recommended oil in small amounts into the filler opening. (Oil refill capacity: approximately 0.6 ~ 1 L)

Use only the specified engine oil. (Refer to "Recommended lubricants and capacities" in chapter 8.)

Do not overfill the engine with oil. Keep the oil level no higher than the F mark on the dipstick.

✽ NOTICE

  • If you drive approximately 50 km to 100 km after warming up the engine and adding engine oil, the warning light will go off.
  • Turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON 3 times within 10 seconds. The warning light will go out immediately. However, if you turn off the warning light without adding engine oil, the light will come on again after driving approximately 50 km to 100 km once the engine has warmed up.

CAUTION

If the light remains on after adding engine oil and driving approximately 50 km to 100 km after the engine has warmed up, it is recommended that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

Even if this light does not come on after starting the engine, the engine oil level must be checked and topped up periodically.
