The EPB malfunction indicator illuminates when the ignition switch is turned on, and it should turn off after approximately 3 seconds. If the indicator does not illuminate, or remains illuminated, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.

In addition, the EPB malfunction indicator may illuminate when the ESC indicator illuminates to indicate that the ESC is not operating properly. If this occurs, it does not indicate a malfunction of the EPB.
