Blade Inspection

NOTICE

Note that hot waxes applied by commercial car washes can make the windshield difficult to clean.

Contamination of the windshield or wiper blades by foreign matter can reduce wiper effectiveness. Common sources of contamination include insects, tree sap, and hot wax from commercial car washes. If the blades do not wipe well, clean the windshield and wiper blades with a good cleaner or mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water.

CAUTION

To avoid damaging the wiper blades, do not use gasoline, kerosene, paint thinner, or solvents on or near the wiper blades.

Wiper Blade Replacement

When the wipers can no longer clean the windshield effectively, the blades are likely worn or damaged and should be replaced.

CAUTION

To avoid damaging the wiper arms and other wiper components, do not try to operate the wipers by hand.

CAUTION

Using wiper blades other than those specified may cause the wipers to malfunction or fail.
