  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the fuel pump assembly.
  3. Check the fuel pump operation by connecting the fuel pump connector (A), applying power to pin (No. 2) and ground to pin (No. 4).
    Pin No. Description
    1 Fuel sensor signal (+)
    2 -
    3 Fuel sensor ground (-)
    4 Fuel Pump Motor (+)
    5 Fuel Pump Motor (-)
  4. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of the sender connector (A) at each float level.
    Pin No. Description
    1 Fuel sensor signal (+)
    2 -
    3 Fuel sensor ground (-)
    4 Fuel Pump Motor (+)
    5 Fuel Pump Motor (-)
  5. Also check that the resistance changes smoothly as the float moves from the "E" position to the "F" position.
    Position Resistance (Ω) Capacity (L)
    E 298 - 305 3.0
    Cluster Indicator Lamp 188 - 192 6,6
    1/2 80,4 - 84,4 18.2
    F 14 - 16 33,7
[Fuel Sender]
