Removal

Low-pressure fuel line [High-pressure fuel pump ↔ Engine compartment fuel line extension]
  1. Release the residual pressure in the fuel line. (Refer to Fuel System – "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line")
  2. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. Remove the air cleaner. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
  4. Disconnect the quick-connect coupling of the fuel feed tube (A).
  5. Remove the mounting bolt (A) and nut (B) of the low-pressure fuel line.
  6. Release the residual pressure in the fuel line. (Refer to Fuel System – "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line")
  7. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  8. Remove the air cleaner. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
  9. Disconnect the fuel supply tube (A).
  10. Disconnect the vapor hose (A) from the purge control solenoid valve.
  11. Remove the catalytic converter and center muffler assembly. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System – "Muffler")
  12. Remove the fuel tank. (Refer to Fuel System - "Fuel Tank")
  13. Remove the fuel line (A) after loosening the mounting bolts and bracket.
  14. Release the residual pressure in the fuel line. (Refer to Fuel System – "Release Residual Pressure in Fuel Line")
  15. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  16. Remove the air cleaner. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air Cleaner")
  17. Disconnect the ignition coil connector (A).
  18. Remove the bolts securing the engine control wiring harness (B).
  19. Remove the bolts securing the low-pressure fuel line (C).
  20. Remove the purge control solenoid valve (PCSV). (Refer to Engine Control System – "Purge Control Solenoid Valve (PCSV)").
  21. Remove the high pressure fuel tube.
    1. Remove the flanged nut (A) from the high-pressure fuel pump using the special service tool [SST No.: 09314-3Q100 or 09314-27130].
    2. Remove the flange nut (A) from the delivery pipe using the special service tool [SST No.: 09314-3Q100 or 09314-27130].
    3. Remove the high-pressure fuel pipe.
Low-pressure fuel line [Engine compartment fuel line extension ↔ Fuel tank] High-pressure fuel pipe [High-pressure fuel pump ↔ Delivery pipe]

Installation

  1. Install the fuel line in the reverse order of removal.
  2. Install the high pressure fuel line as follows.
    1. Fully pre-tighten both side nuts (A) in the high-pressure fuel pipe tightening area while holding the pipes in a vertical position.
    2. Tighten the mounting bolt of the high-pressure fuel pipe function block (B).

      Tightening torque: 7.8–11.8 N·m

    3. Fully tighten both side nuts (A) in the high-pressure fuel pipe tightening area.

      Tightening Torque: 26.5–32 N·m
