  4. Select the desired fan speed.

Heater

  1. Select theair distribution mode.
  2. Set the outside air (fresh air) intake position.
  3. Set the desired temperature.
  4. Select the desired fan speed.
  5. To dehumidify the cabin, turn on the air conditioner (if equipped).
  • If the windshield fogs up, set the air distribution to o .

Operating tips

  • To prevent dust and unpleasant fumes from entering the cabin through the ventilation system, temporarily select recirculation mode. Remember to switch back to outside air intake as soon as outside air conditions return to normal, to ensure a supply of fresh air to the cabin. This helps the driver stay alert and comfortable.
  • Air for the heating/air conditioning system is drawn in through the vents located in front of the windshield. Make sure they are not blocked by leaves, snow, ice or other foreign matter.
  • To prevent fogging of the inside of the windshield, select outside air intake and the desired fan speed, turn on the air conditioner, and adjust the temperature to the desired level.

Air conditioner

All Kia air conditioning systems are charged with R-134a refrigerant, which does not harm the environment.

  1. Start the engine. Press the air conditioner button.
  2. Select theair distribution mode.
  3. Set the air intake to outside air or recirculation mode.
  4. Adjust the fan speed and temperature for maximum comfort.
  • For maximum cooling, turn the temperature control knob fully to the left, then set the fan to maximum speed.

NOTE

  • When using the air conditioner on long uphill climbs or in heavy traffic during hot weather, keep an eye on the engine temperature gauge. The air conditioner can cause the engine to overheat. If the gauge indicates that the engine is overheating, keep the fan running but turn off the air conditioner.
  • If the windows are left open when humidity is high, the air conditioner may form water droplets inside the vehicle. Excessive dripping can damage electrical components, so use the air conditioner only with the windows closed.

Tips for using the air conditioner

  • If the vehicle has been parked in intense sun, open the windows briefly to let the hot air escape.
  • To reduce fogging of the windows on rainy or humid days, turn on the air conditioner to dehumidify the air in the cabin.
  • While the air conditioner is operating, you may notice slight changes in engine speed caused by the cyclic operation of the compressor. This is a normal operating characteristic of the system.
  • To keep the system at maximum efficiency, run the air conditioner for a few minutes at least once a month.
  • When using the air conditioner, you may notice clear water dripping (or even a puddle) under the vehicle on the passenger side.

This is a normal operating characteristic of the system.

  • Operating the air conditioner with recirculation selected provides maximum cooling, but prolonged use in these conditions makes the air inside the cabin stale.
  • During cooling, you may notice a misty airflow caused by rapid cooling and the humidity of the intake air. This is a normal operating characteristic of the system.
  • If the air conditioner is used excessively, the difference between the outside air temperature and the windshield temperature may cause fogging on the outside surface of the windshield, reducing visibility. In this case, set the mode selection knob or button to the position () and set the fan speed control to the lowest position.
