LPG safety precautions

~1min read

  • Refuel LPG up to a maximum of 80% of the tank capacity.
  • Do not disable the valve to overfill. If you fill more than recommended, the tank may explode.
  • Turn off the engine before refueling.
  • Avoid heat and direct sunlight, as the tank pressure may increase.
  • Avoid underground or covered parking for extended periods.
  • If you smell LPG inside the vehicle, open the windows. In case of leaks, have the system checked by an authorized Kia dealer.
  • While inspecting the vehicle, make sure it is parked on a flat surface and that there are no flammable materials nearby.
  • Do not repair the tank. We recommend contacting an authorized KIA dealer.
  • Do not try to stop leaks with your hands. You could get cold burns.
  • In case of leaks in the LPG system, a spark from the jumper cables may ignite the LPG. This could cause serious burns to people. Do not try to start the engine with jumper cables if you smell LPG or hear a hissing sound.
  • Towing the vehicle with ropes, hooks or chains positioned incorrectly may damage the LPG system and cause leaks. You could be seriously injured.

Do not use LPG system components and/or fuel lines as towing attachment points.
